01. Who’s behind this site
The Fillennial is a personal blog operated by an individual based in the Netherlands. It’s not a company, not a registered business, and not a publication with an editorial team. It’s one person sharing his personal stories about money, trying to give you an enjoyable experience while doing so.
02. Using the site
You’re welcome to read, share, and discuss the content on this site with others. You may link to individual posts or pages, and you may quote brief excerpts for purposes of commentary, criticism, or discussion, provided you credit The Fillennial as the source. You may not:
- Republish entire posts or large portions of content on other websites, social media accounts, or any other medium without written permission
- Reproduce the site’s design, code, or structural elements for your own projects
- Use any content from the site for commercial purposes without written permission
- Use automated systems to scrape, crawl, or download content from the site beyond what is permitted by standard search engine indexing
- Attempt to access parts of the site that are not intended to be publicly available
- Upload, transmit, or share any malicious code, viruses, or harmful content through any feature of the site
- Use the site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
03. Intellectual property
All content on The Fillennial, including written posts, images, graphics, code, design elements, and the Easter egg hunt mechanic, is owned by me and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The blog’s visual identity and the rewards for the blog’s hidden Easter egg hunt, are original creations.
Some media embedded in posts, including film clips and video references, belongs to their respective rights holders and is used for commentary, criticism, or discussion purposes.
04. User-generated content
The Fillennial does not currently have a comments section or any feature that allows users to publish content directly on the site. If such a feature is added in the future, additional terms will apply.
If you choose to contact me via email or social media, your message may be used to inform future content in anonymized form. I will not share, sell, or publish any personally identifying information from your communications without your consent.
05. The Easter egg hunt
The Fillennial includes a hidden Easter egg hunt feature, the details of which can be found through reading the privacy policy. Participation is entirely voluntary and free. Progress is stored locally in your browser using localStorage and is not transmitted to any server. The hunt is intended as a personal experience for entertainment purposes. There is no obligation to participate, and the core content of the blog remains fully accessible without engaging with the hunt.
The Path Galaxy feature, if you choose to participate in it, stores the information you voluntarily submit. This information is handled according to the site’s privacy policy.
06. Third-party content and links
The Fillennial may link to external websites, embed videos from third-party platforms (such as YouTube), or reference external products and services. I am not responsible for the content, accuracy, or policies of any third-party sites. Linking to or referencing something does not constitute an endorsement.
07. Accuracy and updates
I try to ensure that the content on The Fillennial is accurate and reflects my genuine experiences and current thinking. However, I cannot guarantee that every piece of information is completely accurate, up to date, or applicable to your situation. Content may be updated, revised, or removed at any time without notice.
08. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Fillennial and I personally are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site or any content on it. This includes, but is not limited to, financial losses resulting from decisions influenced by the content, technical issues experienced while using the site, or any disruption to your access to the site.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or anything else that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.
09. Privacy
How your personal data is handled on this site is described in the Privacy Policy, which is a separate document and forms part of these terms.
10. Monetization
The Fillennial may display advertisements through third-party advertising networks. When ads are displayed, third parties may collect data about your visit according to their own policies. Details about this are included in the Privacy Policy.
The site does not use hidden affiliate links, does not sell subscriber data, and does not manipulate content to serve advertisers. Monetization, when active, is minimally disruptive and secondary to the content.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. When meaningful changes are made, I’ll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised terms. If you don’t agree with a change, you can simply stop using the site.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be handled according to Dutch law and, where applicable, EU consumer protection regulations.
13. Contact
If you have questions about these terms, or if something on the site seems unfair or incorrect, please reach out to support@thefillennial.com with your inquiries. I’m a person, not a legal department, and I’d rather resolve something through a conversation than through formal proceedings.
