Congratulations, you’ve found my secret page!

Most people click the “About me” button and head straight to the About page like reasonable human beings.

But you? You read the Privacy Policy, or simply noticed something was off. You highlighted the space between the hero text and the button, and have found the door that regular readers will never see.

Now let me tell you what’s behind it.

The Fillennial’s Secret

This blog is a collection of key moments and core memories from my life, seen through a money lens. The stories have been carefully crafted, and it means a great deal to me that you’re using your valuable time to read them.

I wanted to express my gratitude by making this blog more than just a collection of stories, and instead a place that you will also genuinely enjoy visiting. That’s why I’ve hidden Easter eggs in every post for you to find and collect.

They’re completely invisible. Same color as everything else. No hints, no markers, nothing. But hover your mouse over the right words or tap them on mobile, and they light up. Click, and you’ll be rewarded with a scene from one of my favorite rom-coms. Why rom-coms, you might ask? Well, because I’m unapologetically a massive sucker for them, that’s why.

Some of the eggs are obvious if you know your rom-coms. Others, however, are buried deep enough that you’ll miss them twice before finding them once.

And yes, they’ve been there since the beginning. You could’ve been reading for months and never known.

Note: I recommend using Google Chrome as your browser, pausing your VPN, and accepting the site’s cookies for the best experience.

Why This Exists

This blog was built with an era of the internet in mind that I genuinely miss: the early 2000s, when many people created things to give others a great time first and maybe earn a little (if at all) from it second. The Easter egg hunt exists because I wanted this blog to feel like the nostalgic part of the internet that prioritized experience over extraction.

I feel most content and websites today seem to be primarily, sometimes even exclusively, focused on making money from readers/consumers rather than trying to genuinely delight them and cultivate genuine connections. It’s something I especially noticed in the personal finance space, where the ‘personal’ part is increasingly missing.

So I’ve tried to do things differently, by openly sharing my deeply personal experiences and the money lessons they’ve left behind. No instructions, no advice, just something for you to enjoy and do with whatever you want. And if the stories are already that personal, why not also include my personal love for rom-coms in them?

The Easter eggs didn’t find their way into the blog as a gimmick, but because an accidental rom-com reference that once came up when writing genuinely delighted me and made me realize that both personal finance and rom-coms are fundamentally about the same thing: people discovering what actually matters to them, learning who they want to be, and occasionally screwing up spectacularly before figuring it out.

So the Easter eggs aren’t just there for fun, they’re also moments of recognition between you and me: a shared language for people simply trying to make the best of life, who have fond memories of watching movies like When Harry met Sally, Notting Hill and The Holiday, and who genuinely believe being financially healthy is one of the most important requirements to truly enjoy life.

How It Works

I’ve hidden exactly one egg in every post, and it can be literally anywhere: first sentence to last.

How to get started? Easy: Just go through the posts on this site. Actually read them, I promise they’re worth your time. Hover carefully if you’re on desktop, or scroll deliberately if you’re on mobile.

When you find an egg, you’ll know. The flash of the hidden link is unmistakable, the sound effect confirms you’re there, and the satisfaction of discovery is real.

Once you’ve found your first egg, a tracking mechanism will appear on top of the Blog page and the post will light up there as well. That way you’ll never lose progress.

Some will make you laugh, some will make you immediately want to (re)watch the entire movie, but all of them will hopefully make you think a little differently about money, life, and what actually matters.

And if you’re anything like me, you won’t be able to stop until you’ve found them all.

The Reward System

I believe finding the eggs should be fun, so I’ve developed a treasure hunt system around it for you. And just like with every good treasure hunt there are rewards, so parts of the blog that are currently hidden from your view will be revealed as you progress through your Easter egg hunt. These hidden parts have been intentionally crafted to give you joy, purpose and community.

The first hidden part, the Egg Gallery, has now been unlocked at the bottom of the Blog page as a reward for finding this secret page. The other hidden parts will unlock there as well for every 10 eggs that you manage to find.

I also want you to know that on this blog your journeys and stories matter just as much as mine. Reaching your next reward, the hidden community of everyone who’s ever participated in the hunt, is going to show you how. Quick tip: you’ll enjoy your first reward much more when exploring the stories in random order rather than working linearly through them.

One More Thing

The fact that you’ve found this page means you’re already the kind of person who pays attention to details, who passionately explores rather than just consumes, and who’s willing to look for things that aren’t immediately obvious.

That’s exactly who I’m writing for.

The stories are there for everyone, but the Easter eggs? That’s only for those who care enough to look and find them.

So enjoy the ride. Trying to catch them all means you’re officially obsessed with genuine, honest stories and treasure hunts, which makes you exactly my kind of person.

Current egg count, excluding the example above: 22

In that case, better get started right? Click here to go to the Blog page to check out the Egg Gallery and choose the first story to start your adventure!

Welcome again, this time to the hidden part to my blog, I’m grateful you’re spending your valuable time with me.
